Protective and safety equipment as well as components that facilitate servicing (e.g. non-return valves, safety valves, overflow valves, shut-off valves) must be installed in accordance with national regulations and standards.
The compressors in a F1345 are of the on/off type. The compressor’s full power is routed to heating, hot water, cooling or pool heating, where applicable. If the power is not sufficient for heating, additional heating engages automatically.
The compressors in a F1355 consist of one on/off type and one inverter-controlled compressor. The compressor power is adjusted based on the demand and routed to heating, hot water, cooling or pool heating, where applicable. If the power is not sufficient for the heating demand, additional heating engages automatically.
F1345/F1355 is supplied with a heating control system, which means that the heating supply to the house takes place according to selected settings. For more information about heat production, see the Installer Manual.
Multiple heat pumps can be interconnected, by selecting one heat pump as the master and the others as slaves. The heat pump is always delivered as the master heat pump, and up to 8 subordinate heat pumps can be connected to it and supply up to 540 kW (with 9 x F1345-60 kW) in the same system. In systems with several heat pumps, each pump is given a unique name. External temperature sensors and control signals must be connected solely to the primary heat pump, except for external control of the compressor module and reversing valve(s) (QN10), which can be connected one to each heat pump.
With the accessory AXC 50 (one for each accessory function that will be used), an external heating medium pump (for the climate system) can be connected to the heat pump, if the alarm relay (AUX output) is activated for another function. If the AUX output cannot be used for an external circulation pump, the function can be found in:

If there is a large pressure drop over the brine side, an external brine pump may be required.
This function requires the ECS 40/41 accessory. Shunt valve, supply and return line sensors and circulation pump are connected to a second heating circuit with a lower temperature demand (e.g. underfloor heating system). The temperature in the extra heating system is in accordance with the selected curve slope and offset setting. Up to 8 extra heating systems can be connected to the installation, and each extra heating system must operate at a lower temperature than the system from which it is shunted. Exhaust air recovery means that the heat pump recovers heat from the exhaust air and supplies it to the heating system.
This function requires the NIBE FLM accessory. The integrated fan in NIBE FLM extracts air from the various areas of the house to the recovery unit. Here, the heat energy is transferred to the installation, thereby increasing the temperature and raising the installation’s coefficient of performance.

With AXC 50 a ground water pump can be connected to the heat pump if the software controlled output (AUX output) is used for something else.
This connection enables the use of ground water as heat source. The ground water is pumped up to an intermediate heat exchanger. An intermediate heat exchanger is used to protect the heat pump's exchanger from dirt and freezing. The water is released into a buried filtration unit or a drilled well.
The ground water pump runs at the same time as the brine pump.
This function requires the AXC 50 accessory. The cooling system is connected to the heat pump brine circuit, through which cooling is supplied from the collector via the circulation pump and the shunt valve.
When cooling is required (activated from the outdoor temperature sensor and any room sensor), the shunt valve and the circulation pump are activated.
The shunt valve regulates so that the cooling sensor reaches the current set point value corresponding to the outdoor temperature and the set min. value for the cooling temperature (to prevent condensation).
This function requires the ACS 45 accessory. The cooling system is connected to the heat pump’s brine circuit, through which cooling is supplied from the collector via circulation pump and shunt valve.
When cooling is required (activated from the outdoor temperature sensor and any room sensor), the shunt valve and the circulation pump are activated.
This function permits the distribution of heat and cooling independently of each other.
POOL 40 is an accessory that enables pool heating with a compressor in your installation.

This connection makes it possible to control a shunt valve that regulates the incoming brine temperature.
The heat pump controls a shunt valve (QN41) to limit the maximum incoming brine temperature via temperature sensor (BT26). If the sensor registers a value above the maximum set temperature, the shunt valve is closed to reduce the mix of incoming brine.
The function is only active when a compressor in the system is running and requires the accessory AXC 50.
A buffer vessel is an accumulator tank that is suitable for connection to a heat pump or another external heat source, and can have several different applications. It can also be used during external control of the heating system.

A circulation pump can be controlled by F1345/F1355 to circulate the hot water. The circulating water must have a temperature that prevents bacterial growth and scalding, and national standards must be satisfied. See the appropriate Installer Manual for more information.
The hot water is enhanced with district heating, which is used with hot water circulation.
In the event of excess heat, this is dumped to the collector or outdoor air via a fan battery outdoors.
